Giles County increased to 55 patients who have tested positive for COVID-19, coronavirus, as of 2 p.m. today, July 2, according to the Tennessee Department of Health website, Tn.gov/health.
Twenty-two of those confirmed cases have now recovered.
In today’s update on TN.gov/health, negative tests rose to 2,042, up from 1,995.
One fatality has been reported for Giles.
Test results in Tennessee counties contiguous to Giles are: Lawrence — 143 positive, 2,918 negative, 68 recovered, five fatalities; Lincoln — 58 positive, 2,138 negative, 44 recovered; Marshall — 74 positive, 1,777 negative, 43 recovered, one fatality; and Maury — 311 positive, 5,097 negative, 174 recovered, three fatalities.
As of 2 p.m. today, Tennessee has reported 46,890 total cases, 783,613 negative tests, 620 fatalities and 28,938 recovered.
According to Johns Hopkins University, the United States has 2,715,124 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 128,439 deaths.
Globally, JHU reports 10,776,482 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 517,667 deaths.
