Giles County increased to 62 patients who have tested positive for COVID-19, coronavirus, as of 2 p.m. today, July 6, according to the Tennessee Department of Health website, Tn.gov/health.
Twenty-five of those confirmed cases have now recovered.
In today’s update on TN.gov/health, negative tests rose to 2,211, up from 2,201.
One fatality has been reported for Giles.
Test results in Tennessee counties contiguous to Giles are: Lawrence — 164 positive, 3,135 negative, 78 recovered, six fatalities; Lincoln — 65 positive, 2,229 negative, 47 recovered; Marshall — 92 positive, 1,926 negative, 46 recovered, one fatality; and Maury — 357 positive, 5,357 negative, 217 recovered, three fatalities.
As of 2 p.m. today, Tennessee has reported 52,155 total cases, 843,683 negative tests, 653 fatalities and 31,020 recovered.
According to Johns Hopkins University, the United States has 2,910,023 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 130,090 deaths.
Globally, JHU reports 11,516,782 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 535,453 deaths.
