Giles County remained at 12 patients who have tested positive for COVID-19, coronavirus, as of 2 p.m. today, June 1, according to the Tennessee Department of Health website, Tn.gov/health.

Eight of those confirmed cases have recovered.

In today’s update on TN.gov/health, negative tests rose to 1,054, up from 1,038.

Test results in Tennessee counties contiguous to Giles are: Lawrence — 32 positive, 1,519 negative, 20 recovered; Lincoln — 25 positive, 1,288 negative, 18 recovered; Marshall — 31 positive, 1,055 negative, 25 recovered, one fatality; and Maury — 99 positive, 3,031 negative, 65 recovered.

As of 2 p.m. today, Tennessee has reported 23,554 positive tests, 424,939 negative tests, 367 fatalities and 15,564 recovered.

According to Johns Hopkins University, the United States has 1,799,747 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 104,702 deaths.

Globally, JHU reports 6,229,408 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 373,973 deaths.
