Giles County remained at 12 patients who have tested positive for COVID-19, coronavirus, as of 2 p.m. today, June 2, according to the Tennessee Department of Health website, Tn.gov/health.

Eight of those confirmed cases have recovered.

In today’s update on TN.gov/health, negative tests rose to 1,057, up from 1,054.

Test results in Tennessee counties contiguous to Giles are: Lawrence — 32 positive, 1,527 negative, 20 recovered; Lincoln — 28 positive, 1,311 negative, 21 recovered; Marshall — 32 positive, 1,059 negative, 25 recovered, one fatality; and Maury — 102 positive, 3,044 negative, 66 recovered.

As of 2 p.m. today, Tennessee has reported 24,375 positive tests, 437,761 negative tests, 381 fatalities and 15,916 recovered.

According to Johns Hopkins University, the United States has 1,820,523 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 105,644 deaths.

Globally, JHU reports 6,325,303 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 377,460 deaths.
