Giles County remained at 12 patients who have tested positive for COVID-19, coronavirus, as of 2 p.m. today, June 3, according to the Tennessee Department of Health website, Tn.gov/health.

Eight of those confirmed cases have recovered.

In today’s update on TN.gov/health, negative tests rose to 1,062, up from 1,057.

Test results in Tennessee counties contiguous to Giles are: Lawrence — 33 positive, 1,531 negative, 22 recovered; Lincoln — 29 positive, 1,299 negative, 21 recovered; Marshall — 33 positive, 1,069 negative, 26 recovered, one fatality; and Maury — 105 positive, 3,073 negative, 67 recovered.

As of 2 p.m. today, Tennessee has reported 24,822 positive tests, 445,957 negative tests, 388 fatalities and 16,319 recovered.

According to Johns Hopkins University, the United States has 1,841,629 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 106,696 deaths.

Globally, JHU reports 6,445,457 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 382,451 deaths.
