Giles County increased to 17 patients who have tested positive for COVID-19, coronavirus, as of 2 p.m. today, June 6, according to the Tennessee Department of Health website, Tn.gov/health.

Eleven of those confirmed cases have recovered.

In today’s update on TN.gov/health, negative tests rose to 1,092, up from 1,082.

Test results in Tennessee counties contiguous to Giles are: Lawrence — 36 positive, 1,698 negative, 22 recovered; Lincoln — 32 positive, 1,355 negative, 22 recovered; Marshall — 36 positive, 1,151 negative, 26 recovered, one fatality; and Maury — 115 positive, 3,341 negative, 72 recovered, one fatality.

As of 2 p.m. today, Tennessee has reported 26,071 positive tests, 465,350 negative tests, 417 fatalities and 17,124 recovered.

According to Johns Hopkins University, the United States has 1,909,077 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 109,497 deaths.

Globally, JHU reports 6,804,044 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 362,678 deaths.
