The Giles County Clerk’s Office increased both its accessibility and efficiency with the opening of a new drive-thru service lane at the Courthouse Annex July 20.
“We’re just excited to offer this service to the people of Giles County,” County Clerk Carol Wade said. “They can drive through here and not have to worry about being exposed to anything. They don’t have to get out of the car. People who have a hard time getting up and down the stairs or don’t like elevators can drive through.”
Wade noted that not all of the services her office provides are available through the new drive-thru, such as driver license renewal. However, many services, such as license plate renewal, handicap placards and title applications, can be performed through the new convenient option.
Wade added that the drive-thru option is expected to be a permanent fixture, even after the end of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Operating hours will be from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. weekdays.
