Giles County increased to 80 patients who have tested positive for COVID-19, coronavirus, as of 2 p.m. today, July 9, according to the Tennessee Department of Health website, Tn.gov/health.
Thirty of those confirmed cases have recovered.
In today’s update on TN.gov/health, negative tests rose to 2,456, up from 2,419.
One fatality has been reported for Giles.
Test results in Tennessee counties contiguous to Giles are: Lawrence — 202 positive, 3,403 negative, 88 recovered, six fatalities; Lincoln — 80 positive, 2,522 negative, 48 recovered; Marshall — 104 positive, 2,191 negative, 48 recovered, two fatalities; and Maury — 420 positive, 5,945 negative, 245 recovered, three fatalities.
As of 2 p.m. today, Tennessee has reported 57,591 total cases, 905,208 negative tests, 710 fatalities and 33,609 recovered.
According to Johns Hopkins University, the United States has 3,084,690 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 132,803 deaths.
Globally, JHU reports 12,123,257 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 551,384 deaths.
