Giles County increased to 38 patients who have tested positive for COVID-19, coronavirus, as of 2 p.m. today, June 23, according to the Tennessee Department of Health website, Tn.gov/health.

Fourteen of those confirmed cases have now recovered.

In today’s update on TN.gov/health, negative tests rose to 1,592, up from 1,586.

Test results in Tennessee counties contiguous to Giles are: Lawrence — 95 positive, 2,462 negative, 39 recovered, three fatalities; Lincoln — 49 positive, 1,930 negative, 32 recovered; Marshall — 48 positive, 1,529 negative, 35 recovered, one fatality; and Maury — 241 positive, 4,361 negative, 120 recovered, two fatalities.

As of 2 p.m. today, Tennessee has reported 36,303 total cases, 663,010 negative tests, 542 fatalities and 24,068 recovered.

According to Johns Hopkins University, the United States has 2,328,562 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 120,913 deaths.

Globally, JHU reports 9,157,320 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 473,849 deaths.
