Giles County increased to 45 patients who have tested positive for COVID-19, coronavirus, as of 2 p.m. today, June 26, according to the Tennessee Department of Health website, Tn.gov/health.

Seventeen of those confirmed cases have recovered.

In today’s update on TN.gov/health, negative tests rose to 1,641, up from 1,620.

Test results in Tennessee counties contiguous to Giles are: Lawrence — 104 positive, 2,544 negative, 45 recovered, four fatalities; Lincoln — 52 positive, 1,964 negative, 33 recovered; Marshall — 54 positive, 1,585 negative, 36 recovered, one fatality; and Maury — 267 positive, 4,664 negative, 132 recovered, two fatalities.

As of 2 p.m. today, Tennessee has reported 39,444 total cases, 696,003 negative tests, 577 fatalities and 25,753 recovered.

According to Johns Hopkins University, the United States has 2,446,706 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 124,749 deaths.

Globally, JHU reports 9,682,414 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 491,113 deaths.
