Giles County remained at 45 patients who have tested positive for COVID-19, coronavirus, as of 2 p.m. today, June 27, according to the Tennessee Department of Health website, Tn.gov/health.

Seventeen of those confirmed cases have recovered.

In today’s update on TN.gov/health, negative tests rose to 1,646, up from 1,641.

Test results in Tennessee counties contiguous to Giles are: Lawrence — 113 positive, 2,549 negative, 48 recovered, four fatalities; Lincoln — 52 positive, 1,967 negative, 33 recovered; Marshall — 60 positive, 1,597 negative, 37 recovered, one fatality; and Maury — 267 positive, 4,705 negative, 137 recovered, three fatalities.

As of 2 p.m. today, Tennessee has reported 40,172 total cases, 701,761 negative tests, 584 fatalities and 26,159 recovered.

According to Johns Hopkins University, the United States has 2,492,246 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 125,340 deaths.

Globally, JHU reports 9,871,711 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 495,781 deaths.
