Giles County increased to 14 patients who have tested positive for COVID-19, coronavirus, as of 2 p.m. today, June 5, according to the Tennessee Department of Health website, Tn.gov/health.

Eleven of those confirmed cases have now recovered.

In today’s update on TN.gov/health, negative tests rose to 1,082, up from 1,081.

Test results in Tennessee counties contiguous to Giles are: Lawrence — 35 positive, 1,562 negative, 22 recovered; Lincoln — 30 positive, 1,315 negative, 22 recovered; Marshall — 34 positive, 1,098 negative, 26 recovered, one fatality; and Maury — 108 positive, 3,142 negative, 72 recovered, one fatality.

As of 2 p.m. today, Tennessee has reported 25,520 positive tests, 456,652 negative tests, 408 fatalities and 16,925 recovered.

According to Johns Hopkins University, the United States has 1,886,555 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 108,708 deaths.

Globally, JHU reports 6,703,686 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 393,383 deaths.
