Giles County remained at nine patients who have tested positive for COVID-19, coronavirus, as of 2 p.m. today, May 13, according to the Tennessee Department of Health website, Tn.gov/health.

Seven of those confirmed cases have now recovered.

In today’s update on TN.gov/health, negative tests rose to 720, up from 718.

Test results in Tennessee counties contiguous to Giles are: Lawrence — 21 positive, 1,109 negative, 17 recovered; Lincoln — 16 positive, 912 negative, 12 recovered; Marshall — 24 positive, 794 negative, 20 recovered, one fatality; and Maury — 58 positive, 2,118 negative, 37 recovered.

As of 2 p.m. today, Tennessee has reported 16,370 positive tests, 276,547 negative tests, 273 fatalities and 8,624 recovered.

According to Johns Hopkins University, the United States has 1,380,465 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 83,249 deaths.

Globally, JHU reports 4,315,679 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 294,879 deaths.
