Giles County remained at nine patients who have tested positive for COVID-19, coronavirus, as of 2 p.m. today, May 14, according to the Tennessee Department of Health website, Tn.gov/health.

Seven of those confirmed cases have now recovered.

In today’s update on TN.gov/health, negative tests rose to 737, up from 720.

Test results in Tennessee counties contiguous to Giles are: Lawrence — 21 positive, 1,138 negative, 17 recovered; Lincoln — 16 positive, 935 negative, 13 recovered; Marshall — 25 positive, 818 negative, 20 recovered, one fatality; and Maury — 60 positive, 2,186 negative, 38 recovered.

As of 2 p.m. today, Tennessee has reported 16,699 positive tests, 285,618 negative tests, 287 fatalities and 8,881 recovered.

According to Johns Hopkins University, the United States has 1,401,948 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 85,066 deaths.

Globally, JHU reports 4,408,618 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 300,315 deaths.
