Giles County remained at 12 patients who have tested positive for COVID-19, coronavirus, as of 2 p.m. today, May 27, according to the Tennessee Department of Health website, Tn.gov/health.

Eight of those confirmed cases have recovered.

In today’s update on TN.gov/health, negative tests remained at 922.

Test results in Tennessee counties contiguous to Giles are: Lawrence — 24 positive, 1,384 negative, 20 recovered; Lincoln — 25 positive, 1,229 negative, 18 recovered; Marshall — 29 positive, 993 negative, 23 recovered, one fatality; and Maury — 81 positive, 2,721 negative, 59 recovered.

As of 2 p.m. today, Tennessee has reported 21,306 positive tests, 388,324 negative tests, 353 fatalities and 13,916 recovered.

According to Johns Hopkins University, the United States has 1,691,342 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 99,724 deaths.

Globally, JHU reports 5,644,562 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 352,789 deaths.
