Giles County remained at 12 patients who have tested positive for COVID-19, coronavirus, as of 2 p.m. today, May 29, according to the Tennessee Department of Health website, Tn.gov/health.

Eight of those confirmed cases have recovered.

In today’s update on TN.gov/health, negative tests rose to 944, up from 929.

Test results in Tennessee counties contiguous to Giles are: Lawrence — 29 positive, 1,416 negative, 20 recovered; Lincoln — 25 positive, 1,257 negative, 18 recovered; Marshall — 31 positive, 1,016 negative, 25 recovered, one fatality; and Maury — 88 positive, 2,790 negative, 61 recovered.

As of 2 p.m. today, Tennessee has reported 22,085 positive tests, 399,882 negative tests, 360 fatalities and 14,965 recovered.

According to Johns Hopkins University, the United States has 1,734,986 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 102,286 deaths.

Globally, JHU reports 5,877,503 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 362,731 deaths.
