Giles County remained at 12 patients who have tested positive for COVID-19, coronavirus, as of 2 p.m. today, May 30, according to the Tennessee Department of Health website, Tn.gov/health.

Eight of those confirmed cases have recovered.

In today’s update on TN.gov/health, negative tests rose to 950, up from 944.

Test results in Tennessee counties contiguous to Giles are: Lawrence — 31 positive, 1,429 negative, 20 recovered; Lincoln — 25 positive, 1,261 negative, 18 recovered; Marshall — 31 positive, 1,022 negative, 25 recovered, one fatality; and Maury — 89 positive, 2,823 negative, 61 recovered.

As of 2 p.m. today, Tennessee has reported 22,566 positive tests, 404,480 negative tests, 364 fatalities and 15,193 recovered.

According to Johns Hopkins University, the United States has 1,760,740 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 103,472 deaths.

Globally, JHU reports 5,999,248 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 367,183 deaths.
