Giles County remained at eight patients who have tested positive for COVID-19, coronavirus, as of 2 p.m. today, May 4, according to the Tennessee Department of Health website, Tn.gov/health.
Four of those confirmed cases have recovered.
In today’s update on TN.gov/health, negative tests rose to 510, up from 481.
Test results in Tennessee counties contiguous to Giles are: Lawrence — 17 positive, 954 negative, 17 recovered; Lincoln — 16 positive, 692 negative, nine recovered; Marshall — 24 positive, 653 negative, 13 recovered, one fatality; and Maury — 49 positive, 1,734 negative, 34 recovered.
As of 2 p.m. today, Tennessee has reported 13,571 positive tests, 197,941 negative tests, 219 fatalities and 6,081 recovered.
According to Johns Hopkins University, the United States has 1,172,670 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 68,326 deaths. JHU reports 7,123,222 total tested in the U.S.
Globally, JHU reports 3,562,919 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 249,712 deaths.
