Giles County remained at eight patients who have tested positive for COVID-19, coronavirus, as of 2 p.m. today, May 5, according to the Tennessee Department of Health website, Tn.gov/health.
Six of those confirmed cases have now recovered.
In today’s update on TN.gov/health, negative tests rose to 513, up from 510.
Test results in Tennessee counties contiguous to Giles are: Lawrence — 17 positive, 958 negative, 17 recovered; Lincoln — 16 positive, 723 negative, nine recovered; Marshall — 24 positive, 657 negative, 13 recovered, one fatality; and Maury — 49 positive, 1,753 negative, 34 recovered.
As of 2 p.m. today, Tennessee has reported 13,690 positive tests, 205,172 negative tests, 226 fatalities and 6,356 recovered.
According to Johns Hopkins University, the United States has 1,193,027 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 70,110 deaths.
Globally, JHU reports 3,630,942 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 254,592 deaths.
