Giles County increased to nine patients who have tested positive for COVID-19, coronavirus, as of 2 p.m. today, May 6, according to the Tennessee Department of Health website, Tn.gov/health.
Seven of those confirmed cases have now recovered.
In today’s update on TN.gov/health, negative tests rose to 624, up from 513.
Test results in Tennessee counties contiguous to Giles are: Lawrence — 17 positive, 960 negative, 17 recovered; Lincoln — 16 positive, 724 negative, nine recovered; Marshall — 23 positive, 669 negative, 14 recovered, one fatality; and Maury — 51 positive, 1,788 negative, 35 recovered.
As of 2 p.m. today, Tennessee has reported 13,938 positive tests, 213,163 negative tests, 239 fatalities and 6,564 recovered.
According to Johns Hopkins University, the United States has 1,214,572 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 71,982 deaths.
Globally, JHU reports 3,721,779 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 260,487 deaths.
