There will be a fireworks show presented by the City of Pulaski this year, just a little different.
The city will present fireworks Thursday, July 2, starting at 8:30 p.m. However, there will be no concert, festival or organized gathering in the park due to COVID-19 concerns.
Sharewood Park will be closed to the public Thursday, July 2, near time for the fireworks show to start.
Pulaski Parks and Recreation notes there are numerous places throughout the city where people can see the fireworks. Everyone is encouraged to find a safe spot to park and enjoy the show with their families while maintaining social distancing.
Ceremonies prior to the fireworks show will be available on the Parks and Recreation Facebook Page. Lyric Currin will sing the National Anthem. The Pledge of Allegiance and the Presentation of Flags will be performed by the Giles County Honor Guard.
The honorable recognition of local servicemen, servicewomen and the families of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for Freedom will also be available on the Pulaski Parks and Recreation Facebook Page.
Second Street Church of Christ Pastor Jeff Jenkins will lead the prayer immediately preceding the Fireworks.
