Obit-Byrd, Betty Jean

Mrs. Betty Jean Byrd, 82, of Pulaski died July 4, 2020, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia.

Mrs. Byrd was born Aug. 13, 1937, in Pulaski and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She was office manager of Byrd Construction for many years, secretary for Tarpley Shop Utility District for 36 years and earlier was manager of the American Legion for 13 years. She enjoyed taking a drive with her husband and visiting historical buildings, and she loved flowers. She is preceded in death by parents, George Richard and Jeffie Davis Adams; sister Glenda Adams Wise; and brothers, Richard Adams Jr., Andy Adams, Dennis Adams and Freddie Adams.   

Funeral services were July 6 at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory with Mark Johnson officiating. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery.

Survivors include husband of 57 years Cleveland Byrd of Pulaski; sons, Jamie Byrd and wife Pat, Freddie Byrd and wife Gina, all of Pulaski; grandchildren, Chris Byrd, Mitch Byrd, Kelby Byrd and wife Rachel, Megan Smith and husband Kade; great-grandchildren, Kyler, Wrenley; and several nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
