Obit-Jordan, Betty Jean McFarland

Mrs. Betty Jean McFarland Jordan, 87, died June 24, 2020.

Mrs. Jordan was born Jan. 13, 1933, in Elkton. Her father owned McFarland Store on Main Street in Elkton. She graduated as the Elkton High School Class of 1951 Valedictorian, and graduated from Martin College in 1953 with an associate’s degree in business. She had been a member of Elkton Baptist Church since 1945 where she served as the piano player for many years. She is preceded in death by husband Houston Jordan; parents, Henry Robert McFarland and Addye Odell Gowan McFarland; sisters, Ruby Lanier, Bessie Whitt, Lucille Jones, Mamie Sue Richards; and brothers, Robert (Bud) McFarland, John W. McFarland, George McFarland and Harold McFarland.

Funeral services were June 28 at Elkton Baptist Church. Burial was in Elkton Cemetery.

Carr & Erwin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial donations may be made to the Elkton Baptist Church Building Fund.

Survivors include son Gary Houston Jordan and wife Christie of Pulaski; daughters, Diane Jordan Owens and husband Tom, Tammy Jordan Gaudette and husband Paul, all of Pulaski, Lisa Jordan Sanderson of Ardmore, Ala.; grandchildren, Jessica Nave, Jordan Paul, Eve Puckett, Zach Jordan, Lacey Blakely, Skyler Sanderson, Lauren Gaudette, Heath Gaudette, Brooklyn Gaudette, Briley Gaudette, Kylie Bailey, Gabe Bailey; and great-grandchildren, Sadie Nave, Austin Nave, Addie Grace Nave, Max Paul, Charlotte Harper Paul, Elijah Jordan, Olivia Puckett, Fisher Blakely, Emersyn Blakely and Kade Kimbrough.
