Early in the softball season, which has been halted over concern about the coronavirus, Ardmore, Ala., pitcher Sydney Hall has thrown a no-hitter and a one-hitter for the Lady Tigers.

A senior, Hall has signed with Calhoun, Ala., Community College.

Against Grissom High School, from Huntsville, Ala., Hall threw a no-hitter, striking out 12 and walking one in five innings.  

Ardmore scored once in the first inning and three times in the fifth inning of the 4-0 win.

Bo Riley tripled once and singled twice, while B. Jones tripled, L.B. Smith tripled and singled, and Hall doubled.

Chesney Widner and Riley stole bases.

In a 7-0 win over Winfield, Hall struck out four, walked one and gave up a hit in 4.2 innings. Addy Atchley struck out the only batter she faced.

Smith homered for Ardmore, while Bri Daily doubled twice, and Maddie Hodges doubled.

Hall, Madison Lewis and Riley each hit safely twice. Reagan Clem also hit safely.

Smith drove in three runs and Daily two.

Riley also stole a base.

In an 11-0 win over Winfield, Hall gave up one hit, walked one and struck out 11.

Hodges doubled twice and Hall once in the March 7 game. Smith homered, finishing with three runs batted in and hit safely twice.

Lewis had three hits and Atchley, Riley and Daily each singled. 

Lewis stole two bases and Riley one.

Visiting Ardmore managed only six hits, two by Simmons, in an 8-3 loss at Athens, Ala. 

Daily walked and Simmons was hit by a pitch as Ardmore managed just eight base runners. Simmons stole two bases.

Smith, Wise, Calder and Atchley each singled.

Atchley pitched 5.2 innings, and pitcher of record Edith Singletary threw 1.1 innings, walking three, while Atchley walked two. Each pitcher gave up four runs.

The Lady Tigers managed 14 hits, but scored only five runs in a 6-5 loss to Bob Jones.

Riley hit safely three times and stole a base, while Hodges homered, Atchley and Hall each doubled twice. Smith, Lewis, Clem, Daily, Hall and Simmons each singled. Lewis drove in two runs.

Hall, Ardmore’s pitcher of record, gave up six runs on seven hits, among them two homeruns. She struck out two and walked one.

Atchley homered, and drove in a run in Ardmore’s 5-3 loss to Bob Jones.

Riley had two hits and Daily one for Ardmore, while teammates Clem and Hodges each drove in others.

Riley stole a base.

Atchley started, and Riley was the pitcher of record with each throwing two innings.

T.M. Rogers scored on Aubree Heszuel’s homerun in the fourth inning, while Ardmore scored in the fifth and seventh innings on March 7.

Atchley homered, and Lewis doubled. Hall drove in another Ardmore run.

Atchley hit safely twice, while Riley, Simmons and Hall also hit safely.

The winning pitcher, Hall, struck out nine, walked one and gave up three hits in seven innings.

T.M. Rogers pitcher of record Hannah Price struck out nine and gave up five

hits.

Lewis singled twice for Ardmore and Atchley doubled. Hodges, Riley and Wise each singled.

Riley stole two bases and Simmons one in a collective three tries.

The winning pitcher, Riley, gave up three runs in 2.1 innings, while the starter, Hall, struck out four and gave up two hits in 2.2 innings.

Sydney Hall homered, while L.B. Smith doubled, and B. Calder, Clem, Riley and Simmons each singled for Ardmore.

Smith, Hodges, Riley and Simmons each stole bases for Ardmore.

Atchley gave up five runs on five hits in three innings. Riley gave up two runs on two hits in one innings.
